Activities and tours available from Rimba Orangutan Ecolodge
The most spectacular adventure is the trip up the placid Sekonyer River through dense rainforest on a traditional klotok. The journey takes you to Pondok Tangui and Camp Leakey to see orangutans, learn about river and forest ecology and visit the Orangutan Education Centre. Wildlife seen along the river include wild Orangutans, Proboscis monkeys, Black-handed Gibbons, Silver Langurs, Crocodiles, Monitor Lizards, Snakes and many Birds. Enjoy a short hike to the forest for an afternoon 
observing the Orangutan feeding. Relax for the wonderful sunset experience as the Macaque and Proboscis monkeys prepare for night in the river-side trees.
Also available is a visit to Pesalat Reforestation area, especially good for birding, or a botanical stroll, and a visit to Tanjung Harapan orangutan release centre, 10 minutes from the lodge. Opposite is the village with a cooperative handicraft shop. At dusk go upriver to watch as Proboscis monkeys come to the forest edge to roost, then later explore the Nipah palm forest down river amidst the spectacular fireflies.
